Raising Orchids

For families

Parent coaching for families of neurodivergent kids, teens, and young people. All fees on this page. NDIS self-managed participants welcome.

I aim to make support for families accessible, comfortable and affordable. All sessions are strictly confidential.

Pricing is visible below. If you're not sure what fits, book a free 20-minute call and we'll work it out together.

Jodie is based in Adelaide and works with families in person across the Adelaide metro area (in-home or in a mutually agreed location), and online with families anywhere in Australia. Online sessions work well for families outside Adelaide metro, for families with limited access to in-person appointments, and for parents who'd rather meet from their own kitchen table. NDIS self-managed participants can use their funding for either in-person or online sessions.

Steady Ground — six-week program

Format: hybrid — a mix of in-person (within Adelaide metro) and online sessions, whichever fits the week and the family. We agree the rhythm on the free call.

Your child may have recently been diagnosed with autism, or you've received assessments but don't understand what they mean or how to implement the recommendations. Steady Ground is a structured program designed to help you navigate and understand the world of neurodivergent parenting and family living.

Six weeks, one-to-one. We work together weekly on what's actually happening — mornings, meltdowns, transitions, the parts of the week that keep unravelling. It's structured enough to give you a shape to return to, and loose enough to meet what's real this week. Not a workbook. Not a group.

The program will help you:

  • Feel more confident in responding to your child
  • Support emotional regulation — yours and your child's
  • Reduce stress and overwhelm at home
  • Better understand behaviour and what's underneath it
  • Create more calm through environment, communication, and routines
  • Strengthen your connection with your child

No diagnosis required. All neurotypes welcome.

Can I bring my partner?

Yes. Many sessions work better with both parents or carers in the room, if that's the shape of your family. We'll talk about what fits best on the first call.

What if I miss a week?

We reschedule. Life happens — especially with a neurodivergent child. The program is six sessions, not six specific dates.

Is this a group program?

No — Steady Ground is one-to-one. You're not explaining yourself to a room.

Can I come without my co-parent?

Yes. Many parents come on their own — sometimes because the other parent isn't on the same page yet, sometimes because single-parenting is the shape of the family. We can also work with both of you if you'd prefer.

Is Steady Ground therapy?

No. It is parent coaching and education. I am not a psychologist or mental-health clinician. If you or your child need therapy or mental-health treatment, I can help you think about where to look, but I won't be providing it.

Individual parent/carer sessions

Single sessions or short series, for parents and carers who want flexible access without committing to the Steady Ground structure. We walk alongside you to build your confidence to support your child's emotional regulation, behaviour, and daily functioning — by helping you to:

  • Understand what lies beneath behaviours such as meltdowns, big emotions, perfectionism, and masking
  • Understand your child's inner world, behaviour, and triggers
  • Create manageable daily routines
  • Support emotional regulation (yours and your child's)
  • Reduce stress and overwhelm at home
  • Strengthen your relationship with your child

Sessions are trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and grounded in nearly thirty years of sector experience. Where you're using NDIS funding, sessions are linked to your child's NDIS goals and support meaningful outcomes in everyday family life.

Session rates (private and self-managed NDIS)

  • $130/hr — Standard parent capacity-building session
  • $160/1.5hr — Extended session for complex behavioural or trauma-informed support
  • $200/hr — Reports, letters, and multidisciplinary meetings

Using NDIS funding

Services are available to self-managed NDIS participants only— and to plan-managed participants whose plan manager is willing to pay unregistered providers. This allows flexibility to tailor support to your family's needs. NDIA-managed (agency-managed) participants cannot use my services.

Sessions align with Capacity Building supports under:

  • Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living
  • Capacity Building – Improved Relationships

I focus on building your capacity as a parent — supporting you to understand your child and use practical strategies to improve emotional regulation, behaviour, daily routines, and family relationships.

If you're not sure whether your plan is self-managed, I'm happy to help you understand your options. Ask on the free call and we'll work it out before we book anything paid. Invoices are provided with the appropriate line items.

If you need to cancel

  • 48 business hours' notice or more — no fee.
  • Less than 48 hours — 50% of session fee.
  • Less than 24 hours or no-show — 100% of session fee.

Appointment reminders are sent via text to allow time to cancel or reschedule. The aim of the policy is to reduce disruptions, ensure other clients on the waiting list can access services, and encourage timely communication.

I know life with a neurodivergent child is unpredictable. If something genuinely exceptional happens — a medical emergency, a child in crisis, a bereavement — contact me as soon as you can, and I'll consider waiving or reducing the fee. That's a goodwill call, at my discretion; the policy above is the policy.
